I think I broke my brain

I've started a pair of Heather Mittens by Spillyjane. Which means i've started knitting with two colors at once. My first round went excruciatingly slow due to several factors. My standard knitting style can best be described as right-handed contintental where I'm holding the yarn in my right hand instead of my left, but i'm not removing my hand from the right-hand needle to bring the yarn around. I've learned to keep tension on yarn around my right index finger and bringing it around the needle for the loop. having to drop the needle to grab one color, dropping that to pick up the first color, dropping that to go back to the first was driving me absolutely bugfuck. So I decided to learn two-handed fair isle knitting. Which meant I had to practice genuine continental knitting. That took a few hours figuring out how to hold the yarn in my left hand and then practiced until I could knit smoothly that way. Then I did a few rounds of two-handed fair isle. Holding one color in one hand and another color in the other hand and knitting them each in turn is an efficient method of knitting. but it's *maddening*. Imagine typing or texting. You can already do that with your fingers, right? Imagine learning how to do that with your toes. For several hours. And then imagine typing/texting with both your fingers and your toes on the same keyboard/device at the same time. My brain is broken, my fingers cramped, and I've got a headache. But it's *working*. I can *do* this.
