Wonderful weekend!

The Mommas came up! Got a call close to noon yesterday from Momma saying she & Gerri were going to take a wild-hair drive up and see me. When I got home from book group I made a mad scramble to get some of the crap up off the floor, or at least shoved over into the corners so it doesn't get tripped over. When they arrived, Gerri said "I called it. Didn't I call it? She ran home so she could clean like a wild thang."

We had dinner at Outback where they've got a good gluten-free menu, although the menu was misleading on one point: the grilled shrimp skewer was served to us on a slice of black bread, which was most assuredly *not* pictured on the menu. But the folks were real nice about it: they took it back to the kitchen and made a new one from scratch. Then we went to the hotel and sat up looking at the photos they took when they went to Vegas for a weekend to see Eric Clapton at Red Rocks. Gerri told me all about the Cirque du Soleil show Zumanity. I had serious Cirque-envy. I *so* want to go to Vegas to see Zumanity. I don't know when that'll be tho. It probably won't be until next year when I'll have the funds for another long-distance trip like that.

Today we met up for breakfuss at Dennys, and had a lovely shopping spree at Potomac Mills Mall. The Moms helped me buy a new outfit at Lane Bryant: a lovely black tulip skirt, white blouse, and pinstripe vest. now I've got to buy some pretty flats and I can wear it to work. I need to hunt hard for summer shoes suitable for work. they don't let me wear crocs anymore, even the nice ballet-style crocs except on casual friday with jeans & logo-shirt. I have foot odor issues, and the crocs were perfect for wear without socks or hosiery because I could just toss those bastards in the washing machine and get them nice and clean. I can't do that with normal shoes. now I think I've hit on a solution: shoes with removable insoles that I can toss in the washing machine. I'll start my search next month.

I saw Harry Potter last Thursday. I LOVED IT, but had a few quibbles. I also saw a local production of Seussical at the Catholic church. Meh. I could see that everyone had a lot of fun and energy and I can see they worked hard on the show, but the story wasn't well written.

Today I'll listen to Music from the Hearts of Space and groove on that.

That is so cool! Sorry about the bread, but once again your Outback wins. Did you get the same guy?

Nope. we were seated close to the same section, and I looked around for him, but I don't think he was working that night. on Sunday, we found a good Indian restaurant and Momma got flirted with by the waiter who, when she said how much she likes mango, brought her a free mango lhassi. it was So Cool.

Where was the Indian restaurant?

It was in one of the strip malls off Smoketown Road close to Potomac Mills. It was called "A Taste of Tandoor" I think.

I'll have to look it up if I have an appointment at Kaiser Woodbridge.

Did you pick up on the dick jokes in HP? Chris has since dubbed it "Harry Potter and the Succession of Dick Jokes", it was so heavy-handed...but we did like it a lot!

The brooms. The brooms definitely did not help.
